Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy paid his last respects to former PCC president and senior Congress leader D Srinivas, popularly known as DS, on Sunday in Nizamabad. Srinivas, aged 76, died on Saturday.
After meeting the leader’s family members, Reddy said that, as PCC chief, DS had worked hard for Congress to come to power in 2004 Assembly elections. Under his leadership, Congress came to power again in 2009. “Congress will stand by DS family. His passing away is a huge loss for the party. After discussing with the family members, we will decide on taking up some work in his memory,” Reddy added. All political leaders have paid homage to the departed leader, the CM said. Speaking highly of the senior leader’s political career Reddy said that Srinivas started his political career as a student leader and ascended to the top by carving a niche for himself in the party.
